Join us in a special 4 day online workshop where we will explore the genre of Romantic Figure Painting in detail. This will suit all levels of artists, though it will be helpful to have gone through the Figure Painting Academy courses.

GETTING STARTED / SUITABILITY
1. Are your workshops suitable for beginners?
Yes. Our workshops are designed to support all levels, including complete beginners. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process using the Moore Method, so you’ll always know what to do next.
2. I haven’t painted in years — will I be able to keep up?
Absolutely. Many participants are returning to painting after a long break. The structure of the workshop makes it easy to get back into it quickly and build confidence.
3. What level are the workshops best suited for?
Most workshops are ideal for:
- beginners
- early intermediate painters
- hobby artists wanting to improve
More advanced painters are also welcome and will benefit from refining technique and process.
4. Do I need any prior experience?
No. You can start with zero experience and still complete paintings during the workshop.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
5. What will I actually learn during the workshop?
You’ll learn:
- how to simplify complex scenes into paintable shapes
- how to build strong value structures
- how to mix colour effectively
- how to create depth and atmosphere
- how to finish a painting with confidence
All taught through the Moore Method of Painting.
6. Will I complete finished paintings during the workshop?
Yes. The goal is for you to complete one or more paintings while you’re there, depending on the workshop format.
7. Do you teach in oils or acrylics?
Rod primarily teaches using oils (including water-mixable oils), but acrylic painters can also follow along with guidance.

9. What materials do I need to bring?
You’ll receive a detailed materials list after booking. This typically includes:

- palette

10. Can I purchase materials at the workshop?

11. Do I need an easel?
In most cases, easels are provided. If not, this will be clearly stated before the workshop.
